THE STORY OF The Ranelagh

Playing a major role in the history of Bounds Green, during the 1800s The Ranelagh was the site of the community’s annual ‘beating the bounds’ ceremony – a tradition dating back to medieval times whereby a group of local people would walk around the edges of the parish, beating boundary markers with long sticks, praying for protection of the land.

These days, the pub’s well-kept beer garden adds to its uniqueness and offers ample comfy seating, barbecue facilities and outdoor heating for those days when the weather is a little more Britain than Bahamas.

Exuding a warm hospitality that reflects the friendly spirit of its Bounds Green neighbourhood, The Ranelagh is streets ahead of your average London alehouse, whilst remaining a family-friendly, genuine community pub.
